Join us for Step Forward 2020: Keep on Stridin' - a Step Forward unlike any you've seen before!

Although we won't be able to embrace one another in person this year, all of us at the Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania (PFWPA) have created an event that we feel replicates the sense of celebration, community, and connection, while jazzing it up with games and laughs!

Join us for an almost month long celebration (October 1st - October 23rd) with daily challenges, activities, and games, culminating in a live virtual event celebration on Saturday, October 24th (that you can attend from the safety of your couch).

Every dollar raised through Step Forward goes directly towards PFWPA's work of serving as a hub for information, programs, and connection to individuals with Parkinson's disease, and their loved ones, throughout the Western Pennsylvania region. Our small staff of four offers year-round delivery of essential support, exercise, educational, and outreach programs for individuals impacted by PD, connecting them to necessary resources, and offering workshops and trainings to health and wellness professionals to ensure that our region is flush with medical and exercise professionals who have the most up-to-date training and information on how to best serve our local PD community.

What do you need to do?

1. Register - It is so simple to do, and takes only a minute or two! Once registered you have the power to create a totally personalized fundraiser page - showing your personality, and expressing why you are Stepping Forward for the PD community in Western PA.

2. Invite your friends - Call, write, email, tweet, Facebook message, whatever! The more friends you invite, the more competition created, the more dollars raised, and the more points you earn!

3. Fundraise - Reach out to your friends and family and ask for their support! Once you are registered, the platform makes it super easy for you to reach out to your loved ones, and express why PFWPA is important to you, and what their dollars will do if they support your fundraiser.

4. Earn points - you have the ability to earn points for a ton of things you would probably be doing anyways! Registering friends, raising dollars, posting pictures and videos on Instagram, and tweeting! Just use hashtag #stepforward4parkinsons and link your social media pages to your fundraiser! We are not only awarding prizes for top monetary fundraisers, but also top earners of points, and top participators in challenges!

5. Participate in Daily Challenges - earn points and share your passion for the PD community by participating in our daily challenges in the month of October! Activities are accessed on your page here, but we will also let you know about the activities via email, and by checking out our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. We are all about making it as easy as possible to join in on the fun. Challenges will range from posting a picture, watching a video, and a range of fun and silly activities. Activities are totally option - if you just want to focus on fundraising, that is totally fine, we are happy to have your support!
