Solstice Canyon Hike

Between Pepperdine University and Point Dume, Solstice Canyon is a scenic kid and stroller-friendly hike along a babbling brook that deposits you at a small waterfall. There are two public parking lots, but you must arrive early to get a spot.

Charlie Turner Hike

If you’re looking for hiking trails in Los Angeles, you’ve come to the right place.  Getting to the Charlie Turner Trail is really easy.  Drive up to Griffith Park Observatory and when you enter the parking lot, take a left and park.  The trail starts at the north end of the lot.  This hike is stroller friendly and has great views of Los Angeles.

Bronson Caves Hike

This hike is technically part of Griffith Park’s trails. The Bronson Caves are a very quick, stroller-friendly half mile hike up an easy trail. When you reach the caves, a popular LA filming location, spend some time playing hide and seek and exploring the caves!

Ferndell Hike

The Ferndell Nature Walk is a perfect hike for beginners and new walkers.  Located within Griffith Park, you'll start your hike just beyond the Fern Dell Dr. entrance to the park (off Los Feliz Blvd).  The shady, half mile hike takes you over bridges and under tunnels, ending at a dry creek with lots of rocks and tree stumps to climb and jump.

Franklin Canyon

Accessible from both the Valley and the Westside, this little hideaway offers a nice quiet spot to explore. There are five miles of hiking trails, including a nice short .3-mile loop through the shady trees along the canyon basin. For young hikers, the one mile loop around the reservoir is a great start to hiking.
