Top fundraiser - Lions, Sea Lions and Great Ape Tour* - Join a Houston zookeeper on a one-of-a-kind three stop tour! The overall highest fundraiser will get to visit three animal species at the Houston Zoo to observe them completing their daily exercises! Your group of four will visit the sea lions to observe a training session and see how high they can jump out of the water! Next, you will visit the lions and then the great apes to observe their keepers providing them with some exciting enrichment. You’ll get to see how our Houston Zoo animals stay happy and healthy.
Top overall point earner - Attend a cheetah walk at the Houston Zoo* - Find out what it's like to walk with a Houston Zoo cheetah! Your group of four will meet with an experienced carnivore keeper to stroll with our cheetah boys and learn how the Houston Zoo actively works to protect cheetahs in the wild. Walk includes a photo opportunity and Q&A with a zookeeper!
Recruiting leader - Virtual call with a Houston Zoo animal and their keeper* - Your LIVE virtual experience will last up to 20 minutes and will include getting an up-close view of a Houston Zoo animal while learning from the zookeeper who cares for them.
Social media leader - Virtual call with a Houston Zoo animal and their keeper* - Your LIVE virtual experience will last up to 20 minutes and will include getting an up-close view of a Houston Zoo animal while learning from the zookeeper who cares for them.
Top Team - Customized shoutout video from a Houston Zoo animal and their keeper* - Receive a personalized video greeting from one of the Zoo's resident animals and their keeper. Video will include a shoutout to your team and can be shared on social media.
Most miles in each fitness category - Painting by a Houston Zoo animal artist* - Receive a one-of-a-kind painting on canvas by a Houston Zoo animal artist! Using non-toxic paint on canvas and a little help from their keepers, our animals create their very own masterpieces. From paw prints to broad brush strokes, each artists’ creation is one of a kind.

$1000 raised- Miles for the Wild drawstring backpack, sunglasses, quick dry towel and baseball cap
*Prizes can be awarded virtually if the winner is not local. Prizes and rewards are given to individuals for meeting their individual goals, not to teams, except for the overall top team prize. All animal interaction prizes will be scheduled on a mutually agreed upon date by the Houston Zoo and the winner, which is often on weekdays and must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance. All animal interactions are for four (4) individuals and children must be accompanied by an adult. For the cheetah walk, guests must be 12 years of age or older and accompanied by an adult. Prizes may not be combined with any other auction item or event. If you want to enter in the most miles contest, you must record your miles with Strava. If using another fitness app, please submit a screenshot of your completed miles to development@houstonzoo.org by May 9.
