My journey through the NAFC school system has been one of the most influential experiences of my life. From my early days at Old Lafayette Elementary to my time at Floyd Central High School, I was surrounded by opportunities that helped shape who I am today. The availability of extracurricular activities and outstanding teachers provided me with a well-rounded education, allowing me to grow both inside and outside the classroom.

My involvement in sports broadcasting as a student sparked a lifelong passion, and I owe much of that to the mentorship of my tennis coach and Radio/TV teacher, Rick Miller. Being part of the orchestra and symphonic band, playing the trumpet, also gave me an appreciation for the arts that I still cherish today.
As a second-generation family dentist in New Albany, I’ve continued the legacy of service started by my family. My mother, Sandy Carter, remains a vibrant part of the community, still playing music for NAFC theatre programs.

Supporting the NAFC Education Foundation is my way of giving back to a community that has given so much to me and my family. The Foundation's initiatives, like the Great Classroom Grants, are crucial in supporting our teachers and enhancing the educational experience for our students. My daughters, Audrey ('19 FCHS) and Tess ('24 FCHS), have both benefited from the strong foundation that NAFC schools provide, and I'm proud to be part of the 2024 Royal Court to help ensure that future generations have the same opportunities to succeed.
