Round Hill Road – Expanding Outdoor Play and Communication
After moving into a new school home this January, Round Hill Road is now working toward the next important step: strengthening outdoor learning, play, and communication for our youngest learners.
With funds raised through the BCCS Steps Toward Tomorrow Walk, Round Hill Road would like to expand its outdoor play area and install a fixed outdoor communication board.
For children ages 3–5, the playground is where movement supports development, friendships form, and learning happens naturally through play. An expanded space means more opportunities to build motor skills, confidence, and social connections.
The outdoor communication board is just as important. Many children rely on communication devices or picture-based systems to express their needs. During active play, carrying those devices isn’t always possible. A permanent playground communication board allows children to communicate wants, needs, choices, and feelings independently — right where play is happening. Additional funds will support in-school activities and learning experiences that enhance each child’s day.
Your support helps ensure that children can play, explore, and communicate freely in their new school environment.
