We’re here to support you through all of your badge-earning adventures! Adventure Details:

Breakaway Cycling Adventure for Kids with Cancer begins on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 9am EST and finishes on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 5pm EST.

Claiming badges for challenges is all based on the honour system. One activity counts towards one badge, with only one badge earned per day. We trust you when you say that you completed a challenge. Get out, see how many of the 27 challenges you can do and have fun!

We have created a tool kit with social templates and information to help you along your way. There are prizes at different fundraising levels – each milestone can directly help a family dealing with childhood cancer.

Earn as many badges as you can and be sure to take lots of pictures when you are doing them. Don’t forget to tag @childhoodcancercanada and #breakawaykidscancer!

Picking Challenges and Collecting Badges:

For information on the challenges:

1. Login to your Breakaway Fundraising page.

On your computer, hover over your name in the top right corner and select “Manage my page” from the drop-down menu.
On your mobile, tap to open the navigation menu and tap on “My Page”

2. Select “Manage my page” from the drop-down menu.

3. Click on “Complete activities” from the left-hand menu to see the list of challenges.

To claim a badge:

1. Complete the steps above.

2. Find the challenge that you have completed and click on the image.

3. Follow the instructions to submit your challenge and earn your badge!

4. Make sure to click on the “Submit” or “Save” button to complete your challenge.

5. When you go back to the “Complete activities” page, your challenge should now show a checkmark over top of the challenge image.

Safety Guidelines

Childhood Cancer Canada reminds participants to give safety the highest priority while participating in Breakaway Winter Adventure.

Participants are reminded to please follow the rules of your sport or activity, wear all recommended safety equipment and gear, and to obey all local laws.

For outdoor activities wear brightly coloured and weather appropriate clothing, avoid roads and high traffic situations, make safe choices, and proactively seek and avoid hazards.

Know your location. Before beginning your activity, determine if there are any safety or health hazards and how to address them.

Recommended activities include running, walking, snow shoeing, home workouts, use of an indoor rowing machine, indoor spinning, dancing, etc.

Due to a higher risk of injury, Childhood Cancer Canada recommends participants avoid the following outdoor activities: skiing, tubing, snowboarding, tobogganing, outdoor cycling, snow shoveling, or snowmobiling.

Whatever activity you choose, the best guideline is: Be Alert. Be Wary. Be Seen!
