CPFF Community Walks 2025 supporting Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation

This summer on August 3, 2025, Andres Moran-Macdonald is taking on one of the most grueling endurance challenges—an Ironman—not just to test his limits, but to honour those who face even greater challenges every day: people living with pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
Having grown up with a deep respect for lung health—thanks in part to his father, a respirologist who has treated thousands of pulmonary patients—Andres has always known how precious each breath is. His experience researching idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) lung tissue during an internship at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver gave him a personal understanding of the toll this disease takes on patients and a deep appreciation for the strength of people living with it.
"My relative health allows me to do some crazy things like this Ironman, but I don’t want to run it just for myself,” says Andres. “By using what my lungs can do, I want to bring attention to those who struggle to breathe every single day. By partnering with CPFF, I am confident the money I raise will go to the institutions helping those with pulmonary fibrosis the most.
