In 2006, Julie Guttormson, founder of Rock On Society, suffered a stroke at the age of 31 due to three blood clots in the major veins of her brain. She fully recovered, thankfully, with the support of her health insurance. Recognizing health outcome disparities, Julie initiated Rock The Ride—a sincere homage to health, community support, and an ideal celebration of another year in business at her fitness studio, VIM.
From 2016 to 2020, Rock The Ride raised over $300k for local stroke and cardiac patient care. Inspired by this achievement, Julie founded Rock On Society in 2022, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advocacy, prevention, and providing financial assistance for stroke and cardiac health.
Since its inception, Rock On Society has extended its energy and enthusiasm through vibrant community events and engagements for a deeper impact and heightened awareness. With our mission's expansion in 2024 to champion stroke and cardiac health and prevention, we strive for enduring influence. The path of Rock On Society now invites community engagement, collaborations, and significant connections. We enlighten the community about cardiovascular health, nurturing a culture of wellness and proactive health management.
ROCK THE RIDE IS A MEMORABLE EVENING OF COMMUNITY, CAMARADERIE, AND CONNECTION. This team indoor cycling event (ride hard or hardly ride), magical entertainment, dancing, singing - a night to let go, have fun, and be YOU. And all for a cause!
Form a team, donate your time, or simply give. Someone you know may one day benefit from your participation and generosity – or perhaps they already have. Rock The Ride is dedicated to raising funds for stroke and cardiac health, preventing cardiovascular disease, and supporting stroke and cardiac patients. We’re excited to share another evening of dancing, singing, and cycling with you!
