Rock the Ride

About Rock the Ride JH 2024

HOW IT WORKS:

Step 1 - Register a BIKE TEAM or join one

  • Start or join a team of up to 6 people.
  • Each team has one bike.
  • It costs nothing to register, but a team minimum goal of $1200 per bike/$200 per person is set to be raised by 3.9.24.
  • Pick a Team name to get started, just know you can change your name as many times as needed. Do not let this step hold you back!
  • Each team will ride hard (or hardly ride) for a total of three hours. Teams can divide up the riding time among their team members however they choose.
  • Want to RIDE more? Less people on your team is the answer! The $1200 per bike goal is still encouraged.

Step 2 - Raise Mad Cash

  • Sure, we give you an attainable minimum, but this is for an amazing cause so AIM HIGH! 65% of all funds raised from Rock the Ride benefit local stroke and cardiac patients at St. John’s Health.
  • The per-person and team minimums are attainable, and most people crush this out of the gate. And that is the goal! Yes, we want you to meet your $200 per-person minimum and set out to meet that $1200 team goal, but we also do not want you to get overwhelmed with the process. We are sensitive to know every year is different for participants and donors. Rock On Society will feed you, hydrate you, entertain you and leave you with rad swag and countless memories. We ask in return you simply do your absolute best to make some magic for local stroke and cardiac patients.
  • Not sure how to fundraise? Never fear! The Rock On Society Fundraising Team will provide easy, fun and creative ways for you to fundraise through your social outlets, email and more.
  • Teams have until Sunday, March 10th at 11:59pm to continue to raise funds and exceed expectations!

Step 3 – Plan

  • Get creative with your team theme/costume (from the elaborate to simple matching tee-shirts). The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
  • Prizes will be awarded to the teams with the highest fundraising total, most spirit, best costumes, highest mileage and more.

Step 4 - Ride, Dance, Party!

  • Join us on Saturday, March 9th at the Virginian Lodge for the 7th Annual Rock the Ride. Doors open at 3:30pm to check-in, rally with your team, choose your bike, decorate your bike, purchase raffle tickets to win amazing prizes, grab some snacks, GET PUMPED UP. STROKE & CARDIAC ISSUES CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE AT ANY AGE

It was 2006 when Rock On Society Founder, Julie Guttormson, was 31 years old and suffered a stroke from three blood clots in different, major veins of her brain. Julie was lucky enough to walk away healthy and have great health insurance to back up her experience. Because not everyone has the same fortunate outcome, Rock the Ride was born as Julie’s personal way to celebrate health, give back to the community and celebrate another year in business (2024 marks VIM fitness studios 12th anniversary).

From 2012-2020, Rock the Ride proudly raised over $300k for local stroke and cardiac patients through St. John’s Health Foundation that helped patients blindsided by the cost of their experience. Thanks to the support of SJHF, Julie was able to bring her vision to life for five, impactful years.  It was because of this success, the nonprofit organization Rock On Society formed and to continues to grow and help change lives right here in our own community and beyond.

HAVE FUN, MAKE A DIFFERENCE

ROCK THE RIDE is a memorable evening of community, camaraderie and connection. This team indoor cycling event (ride hard or hardly ride), magical entertainment, dancing, singing - a night to let go, have fun and be YOU. And all for a cause!

Rock the Ride benefits local stroke and cardiac patients blindsided by the cost of their experience and recovery. Funds raised for the 3.9.23 event will benefit patients receiving care at St. John's Health through the SJHF Stroke and Cardiac Fund.

Thank you for your support!
