World IBD Day - May 19, 2023

Fundraising Inspiration

Utilize the ideas below to help spread awareness and raise funds in honor of World IBD Day!

Brunch/Dinner Party:  Host a gut-friendly brunch or dinner party utilizing Gut Friendly Recipes. Ask for a set donation per plate or collect donations during/after the meal. Either way plan to share about the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and your personal connection to IBD. As a thank you, hand out recipe cards and nicely package desserts or a snack (i.e., cookies, roasted nuts, granola) from Gut Friendly Recipes.

Dinner Around the World, Potluck, or Cookoff:  Invite your network to participate in a gut-friendly event! Ask guests to prepare a Gut Friendly Recipe that represents their childhood or heritage. During the event, allow guests to share stories about their traditions and the recipe they prepared. Then share about the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and your personal connection to IBD and offer guests the opportunity to donate towards your fundraising goal.

Get Creative: Add a “Donate to Vote” opportunity allowing guests to vote for their favorite dish. Proceeds benefit your fundraising efforts, and the winner receives bragging rights!

Pro Tip: Hand out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies (think bronze, silver, and gold spray-painted wooden spoons).

Office Lunch:  Ask to host a gut-friendly lunch at your place of work. Collect donations ($5-$10) in receipt for a serving of your delicious Gut Friendly Recipe.

Get Creative: Ask your employer to match all donations during the event or allow attendees to dress down for a cause with an additional donation.

Ditch the Takeout:  Challenge your network to “Ditch the Takeout” for a select period of time (one week, one day, every Friday) and prepare a Gut Friendly Recipe instead. During the challenge share the delicious recipes you prepare, your connection to IBD, and ask for donations towards your fundraising goal.
