About AIDS WALK CHARLOTTE 2021

STEP UP CHARLOTTE!

AIDS WALK Charlotte 2021, celebrating 25 years, is going virtual again this year but that doesn't mean the fundraising and need aren't real, it's just the community that's virtual. AIDS WALK Charlotte raises funds for services and programs RAIN provides to the Charlotte metro area.

In 2020, the world got thrown a curve ball called COVID-19 and like so many other events, we had to step inside and take our efforts online. For the safety of our community, this year’s walk is virtual but with a twist. We will have a livestream program the morning of Saturday, May 1 and will have several predetermined routes available for you and your team to walk, safely.

Without you, we wouldn’t have raised $130,000 last year. YOU give AIDS WALK Charlotte purpose and we are excited to see what you do in 2021!

Let's all STEP UP and raise $150,000 this year for those living with HIV and those at risk.

WHO BENEFITS FROM THE WALK?

RAIN is one of the largest HIV nonprofits in the Carolinas providing direct client services and is widely recognized for its unique model and expertise in working with persons living with HIV and AIDS.

MISSION: RAIN empowers persons living with HIV and those at risk to be healthy and stigma free.

VISION: RAIN envisions ending HIV in our community.

THREE EASY STEPS TO GET STARTED!

Step 1) Make It Personal: Personalize your fundraising page, where friends, family, and co-workers can sponsor you online.

Step 2) Talk the Talk: Now that you have a sparkling new personal fundraising page, share the link with everyone you know and ask them to donate to you for AIDS WALK Charlotte. Don’t be afraid to follow up or send reminders, and remember to thank your donors!

Step 3) Walk the Virtual Walk: Get ready for AIDS WALK Charlotte by sharing your pictures of you walking around the house, on the treadmill or around your neighborhood (keeping your social distance) and tag RAIN using #aidswalkclt and #stepupclt.

WHY WE WALK.

While HIV and AIDS have fallen out of the spotlight in recent years, the epidemic is far from over. An average of six new cases are reported every week in Mecklenburg County.

AIDS WALK Charlotte is our community’s visual representation of the commitment and care we give to those living with HIV and those at risk.

We virtually walk to celebrate the past, present and a HIV free future!
