You’re officially part of Pride with Purpose  🏳‍🌈

That means you’re helping:

  • ​Support LGBTQIA+ Texans
  • Build community during Pride Month
  • Turn your voice into real impact

And the best part? You don’t need to be a “fundraiser” to be great at this.

You just need to show up and ask.

WHAT YOUR ROLE IS

As a team member, you:

  • ​Share your team's fundraising page
  • Invite people in your life to give
  • Help your team reach its goal

That’s it. No pressure—just participation.

HOW TO GET STARTED (5 MINUTES)

Step 1: Make your first gift

Even $10–$25 helps build momentum.

Step 2: Share your link

Post it or text it to 3–5 people right away.

 Step 3: Send 2–3 direct asks

This is the most important step.

THE #1 RULE: ASK DIRECTLY

People are MUCH more likely to give if you ask them personally.

Text message (copy + paste):

Hey! I’m fundraising for Pride Month to support LGBTQIA+ Texans. Would you consider donating $25? It would mean a lot to me!

Casual ask:

I joined a Pride Month fundraiser and would love your support if you’re able—anything helps!

SOCIAL MEDIA MADE EASY

Don’t overthink it—just be real.

Example post:

I joined a team for Pride Month to support LGBTQIA+ Texans!
If you’re able, I’d really appreciate your support—every donation makes a difference.

What works best:

✔ Short + personal
✔ Clear ask
✔ Gratitude

EASY FUNDRAISING GOAL

You don’t need to raise thousands.

Try this:

Ask 10 people for $25 = $250 Raised

That’s huge.

FOLLOW UP (THIS IS KEY)

Most people don’t give the first time they see something.

That’s normal.

Try:

Just bumping this in case you missed it—would love your support if you’re able 💕

Follow-ups are not annoying—they work.

WAYS TO MAKE IT FUN

Want to go beyond sharing a link?

Try:

  • Hosting a small hangout or happy hour

  • Doing a birthday fundraiser

  • Posting a challenge (“If we hit $500, I’ll…”)

  • Matching gifts (“I’ll match the next $100!”)

    • WHAT TO SAY IF YOU FEEL AWKWARD

    Totally normal.

    Here’s the truth:

  • People give because they care about you

  • You’re offering them a chance to do something meaningful

  • You’re not asking for yourself—you’re inviting them to make an impact
