Run for the Wild 2025 supporting Wildlife Conservation Society

This might be how the dinosaurs felt.
I spend a lot of time writing this pitch every year that I am increasingly convinced is read by no one. So, I'll cut to the chase.
The Bronx Zoo is one of five facilities operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society, known globally as WCS, in New York. Opened in 1899, the Zoo has been enlightening New Yorkers, and visitors from around the world, for 35 years longer than even the Central Park Zoo, and is known to be progressive in not only their conservation efforts, but in their environmental sustainability and their labor practices.
Unsurprisingly, then: on April 26th, 1963, the Zoo debuted a new exhibit in the Ape House entitled, "The Most Dangerous Animal in the World", which depicted iron bars in front of a plate glass mirror, flanked by the following caption:
"You are looking at the most dangerous animal in the world. It alone of all the animals that ever lived can exterminate (and has) entire species of animals. Now it has the power to wipe out all life on earth."
The 2025 race will take place on April 26th, 62 years to the day from when this exhibit first opened. A lot of incredible work has been done since then to protect and preserve the wildlife of our planet. By this time next year, I worry it will all be undone. You too? Give WCS as much as you can afford. Hope springs eternal but, dear God.
If you have an animal near and dear to your heart, join me for the run on April 26th. You can register here: wcsrunforthewild.org.
