Anastasia Chocolate Art. This chocolate painting is inspired by the 1997 animated movie, “Anastasia”. The movie was inspired by Anastasia Romanav, who is a Russian princess and is part of the Romanav family. Russian princesses wore a Kokoshnik crown that can be embroidered with jewels or pearls. When it comes to making the royal attire, the royal family can choose what fabric and accessories  with their choice of clothing.

To make the painting I drew Anastasia on rice paper with a Sweet Sugarbelle tan food coloring edible pen. I melted Ghirardelli white and dark chocolate and used Chocolate Chameleon food coloring to color the white chocolate to my desired color. I used the Wilton needle tool to make the outline and fill in the lines. The needle tool helps control the thickness of the lines when I layer the chocolate and it has become a great use as a drawing tool. When I fill an area of the drawing, I would put a full tablespoon of chocolate and use the needle tool to make a circle motion to spread the chocolate evenly. For the crown I glued the sugar pearls with chocolate to decorate the crown. I used nonpareil sprinkles to make the necklace. The sprinkles is also glued down by chocolate.

Making the chocolate painting took a two months to make because it takes time to plan and execute it. This also includes keeping the chocolate up to temp and creating the right color to make the paint look nice.

My floral entry piece is not in a vase, as I intended it to be a wild boho wedding bouquet. I made every flower in this bouquet with my homemade flexible flower paste. There are roses, dahlias, peonies, ranunculus, and smaller filler flowers such as sweat peas, lavenders, hydrangeas, and flowering twigs.

It is actually a gingerbread house. It is completely edible and titled a Woodland Winter. The interior is complete with a fireplace, braided rug, a dining table and chair and bed along with a decorated Christmas tree in a bay window. The wood grain was created with a handcrafted impression mat. It is my dream to one day build a full-size version of this house to live in.

Brandi Hall, #195

The figure is made from modeling chocolate and the door made from rice crispy treats covered with a mixture of fondant and modeling chocolate. This is my version of the "Here's Johnny" scene from "The Shining". I thought the movie was kind of appropriate for the feelings of cabin fever and slowly going insane during this time of social distancing and isolation.

Wendy Buchi, #196

Rainbow Wedding

Tania Consolini, #197

A Walk in Tuscany. My piece is 100% chocolate. Everything including the grapes are made of chocolate. This piece was made several years ago when I first started working with chocolate.
