We're Thankful for Science

2022 Season Updates Regarding COVID-19:

We are immensely grateful for the science allowing us to launch our 2022 season safely! The health and safety of our community have always been our top priority, so we are taking enhanced health and safety measures – for you, our entire Community of Kindness, and those we serve.

Effective immediately, the Hill Country Ride for AIDS will require a negative COVID-19 test result obtained within 72 hours (3 days) of an event for all participants ages 12 and older. In lieu of a negative test, folks may volunteer their proof of vaccination with the final vaccine dated at least 14 days prior to the event. Negative test results or proof of vaccination must be dated with your full name matching your ID. Rapid and PCR tests are both accepted. This policy applies to all indoor and outdoor events with check-in tables at entrances of our Registration Launch (12/1/21), Big Kickoff Party (1/20/22), and Ride Day (4/30/22) events.

The following forms of proof of vaccination will be accepted in lieu of a negative COVID-19 test:

  • Physical vaccination card
  • Verified App (CLEAR Health Pass, My Bindle, etc)
  • A photo of a physical vaccination card

We welcome a culture where everyone has the option to wear a mask at events, regardless of vaccination status.

The Hill Country Ride for AIDS (HCRA) understands being vaccinated and/or providing a negative test does not guarantee a person will not contract COVID19 or any of its variants. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community, we will defer to the CDC guidelines of:

Stage 1-3: Masks are Optional

Stage 4: Masks are Highly Recommended

Stage 5: Masks are Required Inside and when in close proximity to others

Outside of these guidelines, all participants attending HCRA events are encouraged to make their own risk assessment. Wearing of masks is always supported at all HCRA events.

Additionally, the HCRA expects all attendees at HCRA events to comply with CDC, state, and local COVID-related guidelines, rules, and requirements. While we strongly encourage attendees to be vaccinated, we expect non-vaccinated guests to wear masks. Participants acknowledge that they are attending at their own risk, and the HCRA reserves the right to cancel events due to health or safety concerns.

During our 2022 season you can also expect:

  • Outdoor & indoor event spaces with excellent ventilation
  • Plenty of room for social distancing
  • Tables spaced 6 feet apart
  • Hand sanitizer everywhere

This policy will remain in effect until further notice. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you soon!
