Fundraising Tips for Animal Welfare Nonprofits
The Tucson Subaru Pets of Pima Parade is first and foremost a fundraiser to help animals. While PACC works with 19,000 animals per year, our community's other shelters, rescues, and animal support origanizations are pivotal in making Pima County a lifesaving community. In recognition of the important role these organizations play, we are happy to offer a new turnkey fundraising opportunity for them through the Parade. After the Parade, Friends of PACC will send you a check for 50% of the funds raised by your team and the other 50% will support lifesaving programs at PACC.
Here are steps and suggestions to turn the Tucson Subaru Pets of Pima Parade into a successful fundraiser for your animal welfare nonprofit.
- Register your nonprofit team for the Parade at www.petsofpimaparade.com
- Invite volunteers, donors, and adopters to join your team via email and social media
- Encourage team members to ask friends and family to donate towards them and your nonprofit
- Consider asking a donor to provide a matching gift to double the benefit of gifts to your team
- Consider having a contest to see which of your team members can raise the most money
- Invite your donors to come cheer on your team in the Parade!
After the Parade, be sure to Say Thank You
Whether you do it through a handwritten card, via email, or by tagging someone on a social media post, remember to say thank you! You can find thank-you email templates in your Participant Center, which makes this part quick and easy. Don't forget a personal note to make your donors feel special. Finding homes for thousands of pets yearly is only possible because of generous donors and - YOU!
