River and his favorite human, Katy, raised more than $14,000 to support Pet Partners' Therapy Animal Program!

Fun Facts about our 2025 Pet of the Year:​

• River and Katy have been a registered Pet Partners therapy animal team since 2023.  
• Katy is also a Pet Partners evaluator and has worked diligently to grow her Community Partner, Pet Partners of Fairfield County. 
• They love to visit senior living facilities, hospitals, high schools, universities, and a few of their local Girl Scout troops. 
  
• Favorite Toy: Red Frisbee
• Favorite Treat: Bananas, apples, and watermelon 
• Favorite Activity: Playing keep away with his frisbee
• Biggert Accomplishment: Becoming the 2025 Pet Partners Pet of the Year 
• Fundraising Slogan: River Leans in with a Golden Heart

• River seems to know exactly who needs a little extra love when he and Katy visit—whether in a senior living facility, a school, or a hospital. With his big smile and a little golden fur, River “leans in” to comfort residents in memory care, patients recovering from surgery, nurses, teachers, doctors, and even family members visiting loved ones. They are honored to bring comfort to so many different people.
