Dancing for Gold® 2026 supporting Book for Hope®

I’m joining this fight because no child—and no parent—should face cancer alone. Through Book for Hope®, we’re not just raising funds; we’re lifting burdens and bringing real hope to families who need it most.
My name is Dr. Rachel Schutt, and I am truly honored to be part of this meaningful cause. I’m a proud Paducah native and recently returned to the area with my family. My husband, Andrew, and I are raising our two beautiful daughters—Charlotte (4) and Caroline (15 months)—and feel grateful to be part of this wonderful community once again.
I’ve been practicing pediatric medicine for nearly a decade and currently serve as a pediatrician at Baptist Health Medical Group Pediatrics. I completed my residency at Norton Children’s Hospital, where I had the privilege of caring for many Kentucky families, including those walking the incredibly difficult road of pediatric cancer. My heart has always gone out to the children and families fighting this battle.
This mission became even more personal to me when I lost my own mother to lymphoma just six months ago. Her cancer was aggressive and unrelenting, and while she lived a beautiful, fulfilled life, the experience of losing her has left a deep impact. As a mom myself, I cannot imagine having to endure such a journey with one of my own children.
That’s why I feel so passionate about the work Book for Hope® is doing—not just funding vital research, but stepping into the day-to-day lives of families and helping in tangible, meaningful ways. Whether it’s covering medical bills, car payments, or groceries, this organization meets families where they are and brings real hope during incredibly hard times.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to support this mission and do what I can to make a difference for these brave children and their families.-Dr. Rachel Schutt
