Kristin Oldham Edwards was a valued employee, leader and friend at Duke Energy Indiana. She began her career with Duke Energy on December 16, 2002 and spent the next 15 years serving in different leadership roles within the Environmental Team. In 2017, she was promoted to a project management role as a part of the Customer Delivery Management Team. Her tremendous contribution to energy services within Indiana included managing Duke Energy’s transmission reliability improvement plans (TDISC 1.0) In addition to this work, Kristin was a founder of Duke Energy Indiana’s Business Women’s Network (BWN) . This employee resource group is focused on supporting the leadership development opportunities of Duke Energy’s female workforce. Through this work, Kristin was able to develop her passion for mentoring and supporting emerging leaders within the company.
Kristin is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines where she received a Bachelors of Arts in Petroleum Engineering. She then received her Masters of Business Administration from Indiana State University. Not a native Hoosier, Kristin made Hendricks County her home with her husband and two sons. She emersed herself in community opportunities including graduating from Leadership Hendricks County, volunteering at the Lineman's Rodeo and participating with the whole family at Polar Plunge to support the Special Olympics.
Kristin also served on the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA Advisory Board from 2019 to 2021. Her determination and compassion for others helped raise funds for the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA Annual Campaign which in turned assisted thousands of individuals, families, children and cancer survivors. Kristen succumbed to cancer in late 2021 but her impact carries on. The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA is accepting donations in Kristin’s honor to support the LiveStrong program. LiveStrong was designed for cancer survivors to improve their strength, gain community and support.
Kristin was a devoted mother to her two sons Alex and Aedan, a loving wife to her husband Derek and a compassionate friend. All her friends at Duke Energy and The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA are better for having Kristin in our lives and we miss her.
