When we announced the 2020 Hill Country Ride for AIDS was Going Virtual, we also promised NEW physical and fundraising challenges. This week is the third in our 12-week series!
Our mission is to raise funds for our
beneficiaries providing life-saving services and prevention efforts, and
they need us now more than ever as they help people living with HIV
stay healthy in the face of this pandemic. This week is the third in our
12-week series of Virtual Ride challenges!
Challenge 3 of 12
April 20-26
More miles & more carbs!
This
week we challenge you to keep riding, working out from home, and/or
cooking your favorite carb-heavy meal. Special thanks to H-E-B for
sponsoring this challenge! Throughout the week, we will reshare your
posts from the road and the kitchen on
our Facebook page.
Option 1: Ride
the same distance you would have ridden this Saturday had we been able
to hold our annual Ride. For example 13, 26, 45, 75, or 90 miles - and
feel free to break up your full distance over several rides this week.
Option 2: Post
a picture of your favorite pasta or carb-loading dish + recipe to your
fundraising page and social media. We can’t get together this Friday for
opening ceremonies, but we can still carb load for an HCRA Day of
Action (details further down). Make sure to use #TexansHelpingTexans to
support HEB and #HCRA2020 so we can see it!
Option 3: Complete a virtual workout with HEAT Bootcamp this Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
- Themed 80s workout for all levels, No equipment needed, Just your Boombox and Computer
- Donations appreciated and will be accepted ALL WEEKEND on the 25th and 26th
- No Login required, go directly to www.heatbootcamp.com
- LIVE warm up streams on HEAT's Insta at 9:45 AM (Give them a follow)
Pro Tip: regardless
of the option you choose, post pictures of your activities on your Ride
Page, then share to your social media to let folks know you're
participating in the campaign. Post your fundraising link in the
comments of your post so folks can support your efforts!
HCRA
Virtual Ride Challenges will alternate weekly between physical and
fundraising goals. Each physical challenge will have two options, so
whether you're an avid cyclist or you're more of a cheerleader, there
will be something for you.
