Hello, my name is Ben Metsker. I have been blessed with an amazing God-fearing wife of 8 years, and we have three amazing children: Whayne, Krislynn, and Margaret Rose. I was born and raised in Taylorville, IL. After graduating from Murray State University, I moved to Lubbock, TX, to start a career in the Agricultural Industry. That industry has brought us back to my wife’s hometown of Kevil, KY, where I work for Consolidated Grain and Barge in Mound City, IL.
You can typically find our family in the roping pen, at rodeos, the ballfield, or with our church family in our off time.
Being a father to three amazing children brings chills to my bones every time I hear of another child diagnosed with cancer. I have witnessed friends and family bear the burden of a cancer diagnosis, and the impact treatment puts on them physically, mentally, and emotionally. Cancer is all over and in all ages. Watching friends have to say goodbye to their children and loved ones breaks my heart. Dancing is just a small part of bringing awareness to the many children battling such an awful disease here so close to home. Being able to help relieve some of that burden is why I am Dancing for Gold® and bringing awareness to how many children in our area like Brooklyn and Landon that have or are currently fighting this disease.
