Dancing for Gold® 2026 supporting Book for Hope®

Cancer shows no mercy, but you can
I’m Teris Swanson, an attorney with Whitlow, Roberts, Houston & Straub in Paducah and a proud life-long resident of Livingston County. I’ve always believed in public service, and throughout my career, I’ve worked to advocate for justice, stand up for working families, all while staying involved in my community.
I’ve been married for 13 years to my husband, Caleb Swanson, who runs Swanson’s Alignment in Ledbetter. We’re raising our daughter, 3-year-old Josie, who keeps us on our toes and fills our lives with joy. Most of my time is spent with family or at work, but in the little free time I do have, I enjoy music, reading, and watching documentaries.
This year, I’m stepping far outside the courtroom—and onto the dance floor—for Dancing for Gold®, all to raise awareness and critical funds for Book for Hope. While I’m definitely more comfortable cross-examining than cha-cha-ing, I believe in using every opportunity I have to support causes that matter.
I’m honored to dance on behalf of families with a child in cancer treatment, and I’m deeply grateful for every donation that helps me reach my goal. I’m dancing in memory of my grandmother, Grace, and my grandmother-in-law, Josephine, who both fought their own battles with this insidious disease.
