Dancing for Gold® 2024

My name is Blaine McDonald, and I am the morning reporter for WPSD Local 6! I am a new face in the west Kentucky community, but I am not far from where I grew up in Martin, TN. I have been working for Local 6 since January 2023. I recently graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in history. In my free time, I love to travel, workout, and lounge with my Goldendoodle, Bazzi. I chose to Dance for Gold because I was raised that if there's a chance to give back or to give to something much bigger than myself, I should. Also, this is very special to me because while I was in college, I was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Our philanthropy is the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Seeing the smiles and laughter when we were able to grant a child's wish is an indescribable feeling. Now while I may not be the best dancer with the best moves if busting a move can help a family that's going through a hard time— I'm there.
